VALVE FACE TULIP

Carbon bakes onto the back of the intake valve, where nothing washes it off. Illustration, not your car — how much comes off depends on the engine, its mileage and how it has been driven.

The problem

Your engine is
sooting up right
now. Everyone's is.

Burning fuel leaves carbon behind. It builds on valves, injector tips, piston crowns, the EGR valve and the turbo vanes — slowly, invisibly, over tens of thousands of miles.

Short journeys, cold starts, stop-start traffic and modern direct-injection engines all speed it up. And because the loss is gradual, your brain recalibrates: most people only realise how dull the car had become once it has been cleaned and they drive it home.

Sound familiar?

  • MPG has quietly dropped over the last year or two
  • Hesitation or a flat spot when you pull away
  • Rough or lumpy idle, especially from cold
  • A puff of smoke under hard acceleration
  • Feels heavier and less eager than it used to
  • EGR or DPF warnings appearing on the dash
  • Mostly short trips, rarely a long run
  • Borderline emissions reading at the last MOT

You do not need any of these to benefit. But if you are nodding at two or three, it is overdue.

Why bother

Six reasons people book it every year

Throttle response comes back

Clean valves and injectors mean air and fuel arrive the way the engine was designed to take them. The flat spot goes; the car feels willing again rather than doughy.

Better MPG on the same route

An engine fighting restricted airflow and a poor spray pattern burns more fuel to do the same work. We will not quote you a figure — but free that up and the fuel goes further.

Cleaner emissions

Incomplete combustion is what produces the smoke and the high readings. Better combustion means lower emissions — useful if an MOT is looming.

Fewer four-figure repair bills

Carbon is what kills EGR valves, chokes turbo vanes and clogs DPFs. Those are expensive jobs. Keeping the system clean is the cheap end of that story.

A documented service history

Every clean comes with a dated invoice and receipt. Buyers pay more for a car with a paper trail, and it is one more entry showing the car was looked after.

An hour of your time. That is it.

No garage drop-off, no courtesy car, no day off work. We come to your address, work on the drive, and you carry on with whatever you were doing.

Simple pricing

Two options.
Both come to you.

No call-out charge, no mileage surcharge, no upsell on the driveway.

We hand over the invoice, tell you what we saw, and you take it for a decent run to finish the job.

Our honest recommendation

Once a year,
next to your
service.

We are not selling a miracle fix for a broken car. A carbon clean is maintenance — the same way an oil change or a set of plugs is maintenance.

Book it annually, around the same time as your service, and carbon never gets the chance to build to the point where it costs you money. The engine stays responsive, the emissions systems stay happy, and you build a documented history that follows the car when you sell it.

Leave it ten years and you are not doing maintenance any more — you are trying to undo a decade of build-up in one afternoon. It works far better as a habit.

  • Service — fresh oil, filters and fluids
  • Carbon clean — deposits out of the combustion side
  • MOT — emissions tested with a clean engine
  • File it — invoices stacked up for the next owner

Questions

The things
people ask

Including the awkward ones about what it will not do.

All FAQs
How long does it take?

A basic clean is around 45 to 60 minutes. A deep clean runs roughly 90 minutes to two hours. Your car stays where it is throughout — you can be inside working, or out entirely as long as we can access it.

Do you really come to me?

Yes, always. This is a fully mobile service. The machine and everything it needs travels in the van. Home driveway, work car park, a friend's place — anywhere the car can sit safely with the bonnet up.

Is it safe for my engine?

Yes. Nothing is dismantled and no harsh solvents go into the engine. The machine produces a small, controlled flow of hydrogen and oxygen from distilled water, which is drawn into the air intake while the engine idles. The loosened carbon leaves through the exhaust.

Will it fix my warning light?

Sometimes, if the underlying cause is carbon fouling. But we will not promise that. A carbon clean is maintenance, not a diagnostic repair. If something is mechanically or electrically faulty, it still needs fixing — we will tell you straight if that is what we suspect.

Petrol or diesel? Which cars can you do?

Both, plus hybrids. Cars, vans, 4x4s and light commercials. Diesels tend to show the most dramatic difference because they build carbon fastest, but modern direct-injection petrols benefit just as much.

What do you need from me on the day?

Somewhere safe and reasonably level to park, access to the bonnet, and ideally at least a quarter of a tank of fuel. That is it. No power supply needed.

Do I get an invoice?

Yes — a dated invoice and receipt for every clean, every time. Keep them with your service history. A documented maintenance record is one of the things that protects a car's resale value.
